WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position

The Head of Global Field Excellence and Innovation will be responsible for driving end-to-end Commercial Excellence in alignment with Ipsen’s strategic goals and objectives.

They will be required to drive the assertiveness of our commercial team by developing and implementing the Commercial Excellence (product knowledge and skills) strategy, ensuring its consistent implementation across countries.

They will also develop and implement business excellence initiatives, aligned with Ipsen’s strategy, including process improvements, technology implementation, and driving change management with a specific focus on commercial excellence.

They will lead innovation in the evolution of our commercial operating model. This includes driving the implementation of AI tools and systems to support the commercial team and improve competitiveness, as well as supporting countries and the leadership team in change management.

They will lead the development of the Field Excellence & Innovation team and represent SBE in workstreams and taskforces related to, but not limited to, field excellence.

WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

• Drive assertiveness of our commercial team
  • Lead the definition of the Commercial field excellence strategy
  • Own the global field methodology and approach, continue to evolve it together with markets to strengthen field impact
  • Track and strengthen field execution, measure impact of initiatives
  • Collaborate with Senior leadership to ensure alignment with overall Ipsen strategy

• Drive commercial L&D strategy
  • Oversee the creation of relevant content to support the local field force including, but not limited to, creation of product foundational training, skill training (ADAPT, FLSM)
  • Oversee the certification of local commercial teams and ensure they team are properly trained and up to date
  • In coordination with Global asset team, design Commercial L&D programs to drive assertiveness and ensure consistency of overall commercial training
  • Drive the simplification and optimization of Commercial L&D processes to ensure faster time to market, focusing on developing the skills and mindset of the commercial team

• Lead Business Excellence for Ipsen
  • Be custodian of Ipsen Field excellence KPI rules and process and ensure the regular update of Ipsen Operating model (Playbook)
  • Work with Senior leadership of the commercial Business Excellence strategy with business excellence initiatives
  • Act as internal support, providing local operations with insight and guidance on commercial initiatives
  • Act as an auditor to identify potential risks and improve compliance in local operations
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify areas for improvement and drive implementation of field excellence strategy

• Lead innovation of our Commercial operating model
  • Lead the development and implementation of new field tools and technologies aimed at empowering our field teams with AI
  • Work with Senior leadership to align on the definition of future operating model (evolution KAM / FLSM)
  • Drive change management implied by the evolution of the operating model in coordination with local & global team
  • Represent SBE in Ipsen workstreams and taskforces related to evolution of operating model with focus on AI
  • Work with Cross functional teams to identify areas of improvement and drive implementation of new field technologies
  • Anticipate the evolution of the commercial team and make recommendations to Ipsen management

• Other responsibilities
  • Lead Field Excellence and Innovation team – Identify, attract, retain and develop talents in organization
  • Be part of relevant governance bodies related to Field excellence
  • Support the SBE team on project and change management

HOW - Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

• Proven track record in field or field operations with business leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry
• Previous experience managing remote, multicultural teams.

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):

• Experience as a BUH/general manager and/or in P&L management
• Experience in project management, particularly in integration or restructuring

Education / Certifications (essential):

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Digital Marketing, or a related field
• Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) in a relevant discipline is preferred

Language(s) (essential):

• English
• Professional capabilities in another language is a plus
