We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) Fund Portfolio Management in Asia to focus primarily on managing the Pan-Asia real estate diversified open-ended core fund.

As part of the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) Fund Portfolio Management team in Asia, this role will focus primarily on managing the Pan-Asia real estate diversified open-ended core fund. The candidate will work closely with the portfolio managers, investment controllers, and local investment teams to assist in the management and implementation of strategies, operations and asset management of real estate investments in the fund portfolio.
This role may also hold directorships of certain Singapore legal entities and the successful candidate must satisfy the applicable competency, fitness, and propriety requirements to be appointed as a representative for fund management activities in Singapore.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preparation of the fund portfolio’s business plans, valuation, asset management, and liquidity forecasting on a quarterly basis
Drive fund portfolio’s quarterly valuation process with external appraisers and auditors
Coordinate and review quarterly reporting deliverables with investment controller teams and local investment teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness, including both fund level and investment level
Support the preparation of asset and fund performance analysis, including analyzing actual performance against budget and prior period, performance attribution analysis and underlying drivers
Support investor coverage and responding to investor queries, including RFP responses, DDQ requests and attending external meetings
Document processing/ supporting role across investment controlling and asset management functions
Interact across teams including Technology, Legal and Compliance, Investor Coverage, Investment Controllers and Operations within Asia and Global teams
Engage in process improvement and technology development efforts and other special projects across the global business
Other ad hoc reporting and support for regional teams
What you’ll bring to the role:
Minimum 6 years of relevant analytical, fund portfolio management or operational experience in real estate, investment management or consultancy
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial data and identify key drivers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong on prioritizing and problem solving
Proactive, self-driven and intellectually curious
Self-directed team player demonstrating maturity and an ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
