What You’ll Do

The Grants Manager carries out key duties within the Institutional Giving Department with a strong focus on government grants. This critical role builds, grows, and manages government contracts and partner relationships through daily collaboration across departments, particularly with Finance and Club Services.

  • Government Grant Management 
    • Manage monthly DCYF invoicing, ensure narrative, financial, and outcome reporting is submitted on time, and monitor contract budgets alongside Finance.
    • Oversee reporting, invoicing, and compliance for assigned government contracts.
    • Facilitate cross-departmental alignment so grant objectives deliver positive youth outcomes.
  • Government Grant Contract Administration 
    • Perform contract administration duties including work plans, reporting, document uploads, and contract paperwork.
    • Partner with Finance to build budgets and with Outcomes to ensure youth participation tracking is accurate.
    • Ensure Clubhouse staff understand grant goals and maintain overall grant compliance.
    • Support relationship management with Program Officers.
  • Grant Writing
    • Write government grant proposals at the city, state, and federal levels.
    • Author foundation, corporate, community, and BGCA grant requests as needed, developing compelling case statements.
  • Prospect Research 
    • Research government prospect pipelines and lead internal eligibility evaluations using a decision tree.
    • Track new deliverables and non-budget-relieving aspects of new prospects.
  • Advocacy 
    • Represent BGCSF with groups like the Service Provider Worker Group and Budget Justice Coalition.
    • Collaborate with leadership to increase BGCSF's funding and visibility at local and state levels.

What You Bring

Required
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • 2+ years of fundraising experience
  • Background or experience in Youth Development
  • Demonstrated understanding of underserved and low-income communities
Preferred
  • BA degree or higher in a related field

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for at least 1 hour consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks, particularly for events or traveling between Clubs.

Compensation

The wage range for this position is $74,000–$82,000 annually. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range depending on qualifications and position requirements.


Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
