Description
Job Description:
Provide professional and safe nursing care to patients in the Operation Theatre in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
Prepare and ensure readiness of the operating theatre, including equipment, instruments, and necessary supplies prior to procedures.
Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, ensuring proper handling of instruments and maintaining sterile techniques at all times.
Monitor patients’ condition before, during, and after procedures, and promptly report any abnormalities.
Ensure accurate documentation, proper labelling of specimens, and compliance with patient safety and infection control protocols.
Coordinate with ward staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient OT operations.
Maintain cleanliness, proper handling, and functionality of equipment, and report any faults accordingly.
Participate in continuous improvement activities, audits, and training programmes as required.
Requirements:
Education:
Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 8–10 years of clinical experience, preferably in Operation Theatre or relevant setting.
Skills & Competencies:
Possess valid certification in BLS and ACLS (PALS/NRP is an added advantage).
Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call when required.
