Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons is seeking an experienced and dependable Financial Coordinator to join our well-established team. This position is responsible for helping patients understand the financial aspects of their care while ensuring insurance benefits, claims, payments, and account balances are handled accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have experience with both dental and medical billing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly and compassionately.

Responsibilities:
- Review treatment estimates and financial responsibilities with patients after surgery
- Explain insurance benefits, estimated coverage, payment options, financing programs, and office financial policies
- Collect and accurately post patient payments
- Verify dental and medical insurance benefits and document coverage accurately
- Submit dental and medical insurance claims with all required documentation
- Track outstanding claims and follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied claims
- Review denials, correct claim errors, and submit appeals when appropriate
- Coordinate dental and medical insurance benefits when applicable
- Monitor patient account balances and communicate with patients regarding outstanding amounts
- Respond to patient and team billing questions clearly, professionally, and compassionately
- Maintain accurate financial agreements, insurance information, account notes, and supporting documentation
- Work closely with treatment coordinators, providers, clinical staff, and the revenue-cycle team to resolve account and insurance concerns
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and ethical billing practices

Requirements
- Previous experience in dental, medical, or healthcare billing or financial coordination; two or more years preferred
- Medical billing and medical claims experience required
- Oral surgery, anesthesia, implant, or dental billing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of dental and medical insurance policies and claim-submission requirements
- Familiarity with CDT, CPT, and ICD-10 codes
- Experience with claim follow-up, denials, appeals, and coordination of benefits
- Experience with DSN or a comparable dental practice-management system preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly and compassionately
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations, ethical billing practices, and patient confidentiality standards
