Purpose:

To effectively oversee the administration of services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as typically developing children in an inclusive preschool setting.


Qualifications:

  • Successfully completes the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
  • Proficient with WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and basic computer skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field preferred
  • Required certifications must be current- Director Credential; VPK endorsement; VPK Emergent Literacy Requirement; and licensing required trainings  
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a licensed early childhood facility required


Essential Functions:

Organization Mission and Strategy:

  • Works with staff and stakeholders to ensure the mission is fulfilled by following children's individualized lesson plans while striving for kindergarten readiness.

 Leadership and Administration:

  • Provides a safe, healthy, nurturing educational environment for children served by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the preschool to ensure it meets Sunrise Policies and Procedures and Early Childhood program standards.

  • Maintains current Florida Director Credentials in good standing.

  • Hires and supervises teachers to maintain state-mandated teacher to student ratios.

  • Maintains national accreditation standards to sustain quality programming to meet the requirements set forth by funding and contractual requirements.

  • Ensures planning for the children’s educational program and activities align with national evidence-based curriculum.

  • Engages in ongoing communication with families and teachers to ensure children’s needs are being met.

  • Maintains accurate records on children to include attendance, immunization, and physicals.

  • Maintains all documentation and records mandated by state and federal funding and regulatory sources.

  • Positively represents the organization and engages civic organizations, provider groups, donors, stakeholders, and the general public.

  • Ensures the implementation and commitment to the organization's strategic plan.

Financial Performance and Viability:

  • Responsible for fiscal management and commitment to operating within the approved budget.
  • Maintains accurate waiting list.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial reports with finance team.
  • Creates plans of action to address and improve performance.
  • Works with the Executive Director and finance team to develop and implement growth strategies to provide maximum return on investment (ROI) with limited risk to the organization.
  • Obtains feedback from stakeholders to identify the needs for growth opportunities.

Communication:

  • Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Salary: $55,000.00

Compensation and benefits estimated range: the pay range represents the base hourly rate or salary that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined by factors including geographic location, skills, education and relevant experience.
