POSITION OVERVIEW
South Seas is seeking an experienced Breakfast & Lunch Server to join the team at Beach House. This full-time, AM position is responsible for providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to guests during breakfast and lunch while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
The ideal candidate has previous breakfast serving experience, understands the fast pace and timing of morning restaurant service, and is comfortable working in a high-volume hospitality environment.
RATE OF PAY: $12.00 per hour + tips
Schedule
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Typical shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Works 5 days per week
- Open availability required
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as business needs require
- Position supports both breakfast and lunch service
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to guests during breakfast and lunch.
- Greet guests promptly and create a welcoming dining experience. Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter orders into the POS system.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of breakfast and lunch menus, including ingredients, preparation methods, specials, and available modifications. Answer guest questions and provide menu recommendations when appropriate.
- Serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently while maintaining proper service standards.
- Monitor tables throughout the dining experience and anticipate guest needs.
- Ensure beverages are refilled and tables are properly maintained throughout service.
- Communicate effectively with culinary team members, supervisors, and other restaurant staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Properly handle guest checks, payments, and transactions. Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service stations.
- Assist with preparing the restaurant for breakfast opening and transitioning the dining room from breakfast to lunch service.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the restaurant.
- Respond professionally to guest questions, concerns, and special requests.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety requirements.
- Support fellow team members during high-volume service periods.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by restaurant leadership.
What are we looking for?
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle background check will be completed.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in the state of FL.
- Previous breakfast restaurant serving experience preferred; upscale resort or hospitality experience is a plus.
- Experience using POS systems preferred.
- Alcohol awareness certification or ability to obtain required (can obtain through South Seas.
- Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain required (can obtain at South Seas)

- Frequently lift and carry trays, food, and beverages weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and twist.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor dining environments in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely navigate crowded dining rooms while carrying trays and beverages.
