Overview:

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center are seeking a professional and dedicated cook to join our culinary team!

This is a full-time, 36.5 hours position with great benefits!

Rotating Shifts: Hours between 5:00am - 7:30pm

As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in food production, quality control, kitchen sanitation, and collaboration with our kitchen team.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and culinary techniques,

• Ensure the quality and presentation of all food items meet the established standards,

• Ensure that all operations in the kitchen comply with the food safety and sanitation standards and policies set by the chef and the state.

Education:

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent - Experience in lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.

Experience:

Cooking and Food Service experience is required. Cook experience required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.32 - $29.73 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, located in Elizabeth City, NC, serves northeastern North Carolina with a caring team of approximately 650 employees and 150 medical providers. Our 182-bed facility features 25 specialties including emergency, maternity, orthopedics, medical, and surgical care in addition to our outpatient laboratory, imaging, and comprehensive breast services. In 2022, Sentara broke ground on a new campus, a state-of-the-art 88-bed hospital to replace the current 60-year-old facility on North Road Street. The 135-acre campus, coming out of the ground at Halstead Boulevard Extended and Thunder Road, will be known as the Sentara Albemarle Regional Health Campus. It is projected to cost about $200 million, up from the original estimate of $158 million, due to sharp spikes in costs for building materials and medical equipment.
