Baystate Health is seeking an Inventory Handler to join the Supply Chain Food and Nutrition Department. Under the direction of the Manager of Supply Chain Food and Nutrition, the Inventory Handler helps coordinate daily Commissary operations, including warehousing, inventory control, distribution, shipping, receiving, and delivery services that support Baystate Health entities throughout western Massachusetts.

This role plays an important part in ensuring the efficient flow of inventory and non-inventory products throughout the organization. From receiving and distributing food and nutrition products to maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting customer orders, you will help ensure that departments have the products and supplies they need to provide excellent service to patients, visitors, and the Baystate Health community.

The Inventory Handler Will:

  • Serve as a key liaison between the area manager, customers, and System Operations Specialist to support daily Commissary operations, including shipping, receiving, slotting, inventory control, and record keeping.
  • Coordinate the effective flow of inventory and non-inventory products, including food and nutrition products, capital equipment, storage equipment, emergency preparedness supplies, and direct customer orders.
  • Use and maintain barcode scanning equipment to support accurate inventory and distribution processes.
  • Support Commissary quality control processes for incoming and outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy, product integrity, and timely follow-up on issues.
  • Support the System Operations Specialist with daily Commissary activities and operational priorities as needed.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and customer needs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Commissary Inventory Handler positions and activities and perform job functions according to established workflows.

Schedule Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Shift: Days, between 5am-4:30pm
  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
