What Territory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Direct Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and/or existing customers through face-to-face or telephone contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives.
Territory Management is responsible for cold calling, prospecting and building relationships that will increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within a specified product line, business segment and/or geography. Focus areas will include driving new business as well as increasing penetration in existing accounts.
Job Summary
The Territory Consultant is responsible for managing a large territory with the direct objective to increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the laboratory business segment. Focus areas include driving new business, providing optimal service and targeting private brand growth. This job takes the lead role in delivering complex broad-based portfolios of solutions that meet customer needs and builds and sustains relationships with key IDNs.
Responsibilities
- Drives sales and achieves financial commitments from customers in an assigned geography/territory by developing and executing market strategies for key market segments including identifying new markets and customers.
- Monitors the profitability of the business, including reviewing accounts to capture any issues or anomalies regarding rebates, returns, etc.
- Maintains good working relationships with customers in order to maintain business.
- Negotiates contracts locally, including costing agreements with manufacturers.
- Ensures optimal service levels and holds internal teams accountable for customer service, operations, pricing, inventory, etc.
- Validates that contacts are loaded in a timely manner and that contracts are back dated correctly and that the integrity of the contract is maintained.
- Manages inventory to ensure that customers are fulfilling their commitment to the inventory.
- Submits and processes all account maintenance for customer accounts within the internal system.
- Provides technical support on products such as providing demonstrations of products, samples of products and conducting trainings of hospital staff.
- Assists in collecting of aging Accounts Receivable as necessary.
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Experience working in complex sales environments with demonstrated success
Successful negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational skills
Strong ability to multi-task and manage the sales process with many competing priorities
Entrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and a desire to conquer complex sales processes
Strong communication & listening skills
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
A valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 States with a clean driving record
Experience working with Microsoft applications (excel) and aptitude to use various business tools (i.e. salesforce).
Customer/vendor credentialing is required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected for an interview.

Anticipated pay range: $133,500 - $154,500 (includes targeted variable pay)
