Environment & Heritage Business Partner, Gas East

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Environment & Heritage Business Partner, Gas East to join our Health, Safety, Environment & Heritage (HSEH) team in our Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane office on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Head of Environment & Heritage, you will be partnering with Operations leaders to drive environmental management system compliance, risk management, assurance, coaching and upskilling and continual improvement across APA's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and guidance to GMs and their teams to support the proactive delivery of Environmental & Heritage (E&H) responsibilities and compliance obligations.

• Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the HSEH Management System, including E&H Protocols and associated requirements.

• Deliver Line 2 assurance activities in accordance with the HSEH Audit Schedule and review and approve E&H Alerts, Lessons Learnt and Bulletins.

• Lead Level 3-5 incident investigations using ICAM methodology, and monitor incidents, near misses and hazards in SG+ to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting.

• Provide E&H performance reporting and insights to leadership, including trend analysis, compliance monitoring and recommendations for improvement.

• Support supplier and vendor management processes, including selection, pre-qualification, onboarding and performance management.

• Monitor regulatory developments and evolving social expectations relating to E&H, while supporting the capture and management of business data in line with GIS schema requirements.

Your Background

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.

• Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders while coaching environmental and operational teams to drive strong environmental and business outcomes

• Extensive experience in environmental management within a large, complex or asset-intensive organisation.

• Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

• Experience leading environmental assurance, risk management, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
