Description of Work

Broughton Hospital (BH) is currently accepting applications for the Clinical Social Worker Supervisor position.

The Clinical Social Worker Supervisor ensures excellence in the provision of Clinical Social Work services to hospitalized psychiatric patients and their families/significant others.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Managing the Social Work services to include family support services and community outreach and resource development.
• Developing specialized clinical interventions utilizing client centered, cognitive
• behavioral approaches as indicated by patient individualized treatment plans.
• Providing administrative and Clinical Social Work supervision to Clinical Social Workers and social workers.
• Serving as a member of the Social Work Management Team and Social Work Supervisor/QA Committee and other committees and work groups as the need presents itself

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00

Salary Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Experience supervising clinical social workers

  • Considerable knowledge of maladaptive behaviors, psychosocial problems, diagnosis, treatment and intervention techniques,
    including experience providing individual therapy

  • Ability to work effectively with clients/families/guardians and with community providers and managed care organizations in the
    Western region of North Carolina and other service providers

  • Ability to work effectively with the interdisciplinary treatment team and other various departments and disciplines

Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.

This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

ABOUT THE FACILIITY:
Broughton Hospital is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF).  With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness.  Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.

Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

Licensure by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
