About the Role
As a Travel Scrub Scout Registered Nurse at Royal Darwin Hospital, you will provide specialist perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties within a busy theatre environment. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetic teams, and fellow theatre staff to deliver safe, patient-centred care throughout surgical procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide skilled Scrub Scout nursing support across various surgical specialties
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures
- Anticipate surgical team requirements and ensure equipment availability
- Maintain safe infection prevention and control practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary theatre teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Complete accurate perioperative documentation in accordance with hospital policies and standards

What you’ll need
- Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
- Minimum 2 years recent Scrub Scout experience within an acute hospital setting
- Demonstrated experience across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Ability to work effectively within fast-paced perioperative environments
- Australian working rights (contract role – no sponsorship available)
