About the Role
As a Travel Scrub Scout Registered Nurse at Royal Darwin Hospital, you will provide specialist perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties within a busy theatre environment. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetic teams, and fellow theatre staff to deliver safe, patient-centred care throughout surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities:

 

• Provide skilled Scrub Scout nursing support across various surgical specialties
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures
• Anticipate surgical team requirements and ensure equipment availability
• Maintain safe infection prevention and control practices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary theatre teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Complete accurate perioperative documentation in accordance with hospital policies and standards

What you’ll need

• Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
• Minimum 2 years recent Scrub Scout experience within an acute hospital setting
• Demonstrated experience across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced perioperative environments
• Australian working rights (contract role – no sponsorship available)
