JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide individual, family, and group counseling services in both clinic/office-based and community-based settings. Maintain documentation of client progress and collaborate with treatment team members, community partners, and local stakeholders to provide comprehensive care. As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the Therapist may meet with individuals in a variety of settings, including the client’s home, hospital, office, school, workplace, and other community locations.

Free clinical supervision is available for eligible Registered Clinical Social Work Interns (RCSWI) and Registered Clinical Mental Health Counselor Interns (RCMHCI) pursuing Florida licensure.

This position is Sign-On Bonus Eligible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide crisis intervention services in the community.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and updating treatment plans with input from the client and family.
  • Conduct clinical behavioral health assessments. 
  • Enters written documentation into Electronic Medical Record in a timely manner for all services rendered. 
  • Provide supportive and educational counseling services (individual, family and group) to develop daily living and coping skills.
  • Assist clients with developing natural support systems. Refer, advocate, and link clients and families to additional services as needed.
  • Complete all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance. Maintains departmental productivity expectations. Additional training and/or certification may be required based on specific program guidelines.

Program and State-Specific Requirements:

Specific to Inpatient:

  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment recommendations.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or behavioral health emergencies.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to treatment and discharge planning throughout the patient's hospitalization, assisting the discharge planner in evaluating barriers to discharge, identifying the safest post-discharge placement and level of care, and coordinating appropriate follow-up services and supports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with persons with legal, mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries. 
  • Possess knowledge of mental illness and recovery including the ability to collaborate with community partners.
  • Understanding of populations affected by mental illness, proven skills in networking among diverse agencies, and strong planning and personnel management abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

         

Education Level              

Master's Degree required. 

Years of Experience       

Must have experience with mental health and/or co-occurring issues. One year of relevant experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure 

Must have a valid FL driver’s license.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Salary Range: $36,379 - $50,981

$41,700.00--$58,450.00
