Job Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant

Location: Huntington, NY (11743)

Employment Type: Part-Time, 8 hours/week guaranteed

Schedule: M/T, 4 hours/day; preferred schedule of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with flexibility for an earlier start time (no earlier than 10:00 AM)

Compensation: $28-$32/hour based on experience

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Maintain a smoke-free environment
• Reliable transportation
• Comfort with children and dogs
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willingness to obtain
• Experience with household management preferred (1-2 years minimum)
• Bilingual in Spanish or Greek preferred
• Professional, business casual attire preferred

You are comfortable using technology for scheduling and communication, can manage tasks independently, and have a warm, calm presence around children.

In this role, you will provide hands-on support with household organization, family scheduling, meal preparation, laundry, errands, and occasional childcare assistance. You will help create smoother daily routines by anticipating needs, maintaining systems, and taking ownership of important household details.

This role is best suited for someone who is trustworthy, professional, collaborative, and able to maintain a light footprint while working in a family’s home. The family values someone who is dependable, communicative, adaptable, and takes initiative without needing constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Maintain household organization systems
• Daily resets and prepping home for monthly cleaners
• Light tidying including putting away dishes, wiping down surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
• Seasonal swaps of toddler’s clothing

Inventory & Errands

• Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
• Collaboratively manage running household supply lists

Meal Support

• Put away groceries
• Prep and wash fruits and vegetables
• Kitchen clean-up and maintenance

Laundry & Linens

• Wash, fold, and put away family laundry
• Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas

Family Support

• Prep lunch bag/diaper bag and water bottle for toddler
• Occasionally assist with pick-ups/drop-offs as a backup/emergency pickup
• Light supervision and back-up childcare as needed

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Appointment scheduling/coordination and adding to shared calendar
• Awareness of household schedules

Pet Care

• Occasionally walk dog

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Occasional deep cleans of fridge, oven, and baseboards, approx. 1x/year
