Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Security Supervisor, you will plan, schedule, and supervise comprehensive security efforts to protect patients, associates, visitors, hospital buildings, assets, and premises. Every day, you will schedule and supervise security response drills, reporting on their outcomes. You are responsible for the Environment of Care Chapter 2 Security requirements as mandated by the Joint Commission. You will coordinate the development and implementation of hospital-wide safety programs, alongside safety and training programs for corporate and outlying locations, and manage the overall Security function. To be successful, you will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of security protocols and regulatory compliance (especially Joint Commission EOC standards), and the ability to effectively plan, implement, and report on security initiatives.

  • Personnel Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing security team
  • Operational Leadership: Direct daily security functions, allocate staffing levels to meet facility demands, and manage team workflows to ensure all security goals are met
  • Training & Professional Development: Serve as the primary instructor for new hires and ongoing security training, maintaining strict adherence to education standards and documentation
  • Performance & Policy Oversight: Manage team performance through coaching and corrective action, while assisting leadership in developing policies that comply with federal, state, and regulatory requirements
  • Technical & Security Expertise: Maintain proficiency in visual monitoring systems, CCTV, and electronic alarm hardware, while remaining fully capable of performing all frontline Security Officer and dispatch duties
  • Asset Management & External Relations: Maintain departmental inventory and vehicle safety, and serve as the official site liaison for interactions with local, state, and federal authorities

Job Requirements

Required

  • Related Associates Degree OR 4 years related experience 
  • BLS is required upon hire, crisis intervention is required within six months of hire. Instructor certifications as detailed by department requirements

 

Preferred 

  • Supervisory, Hospital Security, Law Enforcement, or Corrections experience
