 Position Summary: Oral Surgery Michiana Elkhart is a well-established oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Elkhart, Indiana, committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. We're seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to support our oral surgeons, ensuring an efficient workflow and exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient comfort and safety, with strong technical skills and a collaborative spirit.  

Requirements

 What You’ll Do:

• Assist the oral surgeon during procedures such as extractions, implant placement, and other surgical treatments.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms with surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile environments.
• Take and develop X-rays as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Support the office team with scheduling, sterilization, and other administrative duties as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience in dental fields or oral surgery is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn. CPR Certification is a plus, but not required.
• Skills:
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization protocols – not required, but helpful
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Proficiency with data management software and helpful to have experience with documentation of patient electronic medical records.
• Qualities:
• A team player with a positive attitude.
• Compassionate and patient-focused.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
