Platform Engineer / Senior Platform Engineer – Ecosystem Development

About the Role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer / Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust platform and infrastructure solutions for mission-critical systems across cloud or on-premises environments.

Salary

$7,500 – $12,000/month

Job Description

• Design, implement and maintain mission-critical infrastructure and platform solutions.
• Manage cloud or on-premises infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking and virtualisation.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation for consistent and reliable deployments.
• Design and manage containerised environments and platform services.
• Work with software developers, architects and stakeholders to deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to maintain platform performance and reliability.
• Apply security controls and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
• Support data pipeline infrastructure, streaming platforms and analytics workloads.
• Perform platform deployment, integration testing and production validation.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and performance issues and optimise system reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in platform engineering or infrastructure management in cloud or on-premises environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native or traditional infrastructure architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with Helm, Kustomize and monitoring/observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or Datadog.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure or on-premises experience with VMware, Hyper-V/KVM, Ansible or similar tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps and automation practices.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, networking, identity management and compliance.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell or Go.

Desired Skills

• SRE experience, including incident management and system reliability practices.
• Experience in disaster recovery, backup and business continuity.
• Experience in high-availability and fault-tolerant systems.
• Familiarity with Government Commercial Cloud environments.
• Knowledge of data platforms, streaming systems and cost optimisation.
• Understanding of compliance requirements for aviation or critical infrastructure.
