Position Summary
As a Laundry Aide, you will play a key role in ensuring residents have clean clothing, linens, and bedding while helping maintain a comfortable, sanitary environment throughout the facility. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality service directly contribute to resident comfort and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect resident laundry and facility linens daily or as needed
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize clothing and linens
- Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and designated areas
- Label resident clothing items as needed
- Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens for resident care
- Inspect linens and clothing for damage and remove items that are stained or no longer serviceable
- Follow all infection control, sanitation, and laundry procedures
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain laundry supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed
- Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and sanitary
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns promptly
- Provide courteous and respectful service to residents and staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or environmental services experience preferred
- Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Positive, reliable, and customer-service-focused attitude
