IMEG is hiring a Technology Project Designer in Indianapolis, IL to support moderate to complex low-voltage technology projects and larger, high-complexity initiatives. This role focuses on the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of ICT systems in buildings, with a security focus alongside communications, AV, and related low-voltage systems.
Depending on the track, you will lead technical design efforts or manage project delivery, schedules, billing, and client coordination. You will work cross-functionally, mentor team members, and help deliver integrated technology solutions for education and institutional clients.

What You'll Do
Technical Path
· Lead design and analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
· Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
· Perform site assessments and generate detailed technical analyses and reports.
· Gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships through professional communication.
· Review low-voltage system designs, calculations, and specifications during design development.
· Apply IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
· Provide technical training and mentoring, and assist with resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff.
· Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
· Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
· Participate in project interviews and project presentations.
Project Management Path
· Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity.
· Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work, fee calculations for proposal generation, and contract reviews.
· Create project schedules with milestone and deadline targets.
· Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients.
· Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly.
· Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements.
· Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner.
· Collaborate with design staff and coordinate project scheduling during all phases of design and construction.
· Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.
· Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested.
· Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain appropriate approvals.
· Train, mentor, and motivate staff, and build, maintain, and develop client relationships.

Education and Experience
Required for Both Tracks
· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
· 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR
· 11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Skills and Abilities
· Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings
· Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
· Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Must have the ability to travel up to 50%, including local, domestic, and international travel as needed for business purposes, which may include overnight stays and/or air travel
Preferred
· Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
