Description
A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer: Backend & Integration to join a high-impact delivery team responsible for building MVP1 of a fully automated Developer & Integration Portal. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering secure, scalable backend services and integration workflows across API and Host-to-Host environments, with MVP1 targeted for December 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot, with equivalent .NET expertise considered.
- Design and implement REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger services and API gateway integrations.
- Build secure integration workflows supporting OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC, SFTP and SWIFT connectivity.
- Develop workflow automation and event-driven integration capabilities.
- Support sandbox testing, digital onboarding, credential management and catalogue services.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and contribute to secure coding, observability and production readiness.
- Work across enterprise integration environments, including OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, designers, frontend engineers and testing specialists to deliver a robust MVP.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, code reviews and long-term capability transfer.
Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior Backend Software Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot; equivalent .NET experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger and API gateway technologies.
- Experience with OAuth2/OIDC, role-based access control and secure application development.
- Practical experience integrating SFTP and SWIFT services.
- Experience with workflow automation and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, containerisation, OpenShift/Kubernetes and observability.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale digital platforms, integration solutions, developer portals or client onboarding capabilities.
- The ability to work effectively within Agile delivery environments and contribute immediately to a senior specialist team.
