Compensation: $50,000 - $72,500 / year
Description
You will serve as the dedicated point of contact for Mortgage TPOs within your assigned territory, generating consistent monthly loan volume through hands-on relationship management and new business development. While your primary focus will be growing and supporting relationships within your local market, we recognize the value of established relationships you may bring from outside your assigned territory. In certain circumstances, previous relationships may be retained, provided those accounts are not currently working with Verus and do not create a conflict with an existing Verus relationship or territory. The goal is to maintain a strong local market focus without overlooking valuable, established relationships that can contribute to the growth of the business.
While the core focus is non-Agency lending, there is also an opportunity to co-sell Agency loan products as the company expands its product suite.
Compensation: $50,000 base salary ($72,500 for candidates based in California or New York) + Production Incentive (commission-based)
Location: Field-based — assigned geographic territory (candidate must reside within assigned market)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Obtain and manage business exclusively within your assigned geographic territory.
- Establish yourself as the trusted local lender and point of contact for Brokers and loan officers in that market.
- Build and maintain face-to-face relationships with Brokers and loan officers within the assigned territory.
- Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries, concerns, and support.
- Sign up new broker partners within the territory and grow the local broker network.
- Proactively engage with potential clients, presenting the benefits of our mortgage products.
- Manage the end-to-end loan application process, collaborating with brokers and internal teams.
- Ensure smooth and efficient transactions, resolving any issues that arise during the loan process.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and changes in the non-Agency mortgage space.
- Ensure adherence to industry compliance standards.
- Maintain state licensing approvals, where needed.
- Effectively communicate with internal teams, including underwriters and loan processors, to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to contribute insights for refining strategies.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of strategies for attracting new business locally.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the loan process, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Drive consistent monthly loan volume and broker engagement to support territory and company growth goals.
- Stay adaptable to changing market conditions and proactively seek innovative approaches to enhance service delivery within the local market.
Education and Experience:
- Must have an established presence and active Mortgage TPO relationships within the assigned geographic territory
- Must have an existing book of business of $3–5 million or more per month
- Must have minimum production of 6 funded loans per month
- Must have experience obtaining business exclusively within a defined geographic territory (rather than a national/boundary-less model)
- Must have relationships with 50+ Mortgage TPOs in the local market
- Must have demonstrated ability and willingness to build relationships face-to-face
- Must have recent/current experience in non-Agency mortgage sales
