Job Duties
Monitor inmate movement within and around the Central Warehouse, taking counts each hour.
Supervise inmate staff on proper procedures in the warehouse and while out in public delivering products throughout the state. Travel to all NDCS facilities as needed to deliver products and supplies.
Work with inmate clerks in pulling and preparing products to ship.
Supervise the proper loading of product on and off incoming and outgoing trucks.
Inspect work areas for contraband as well as x-raying products and performing pat searches.
Control chemical distribution and order filling.
Store and secure different products prior to shipping them to other facilities.
Escort trucks inside of NSP when necessary, deliver products inside of NSP.
Responsible for performing pre-trip vehicle checks, safety checks and inspections on a daily basis. Maintain fluid levels and minor repairs as need.
Perform inventories as needed.
Process, complete, and file paperwork daily.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: At least 18 years of age; high school education or equivalent; valid driver's license; and must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inventory tracking and processes. Strong computer skills, organizational skills, communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a valid Class B or higher CDL with minimum of airbrake endorsement or ability to obtain license within six months.* Must be able to lift and maneuver boxes up to 50 pounds. Applicant accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
