Sandvik Coromant is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Machine Operator I to join our manufacturing team in Westminster, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, operating advanced manufacturing equipment, and contributing to the production of high-quality cutting tool solutions used around the world.
As a Machine Operator I, you will play an important role in supporting production operations by operating equipment, monitoring product quality, maintaining a safe work environment, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
What You'll Do
- Operate assigned production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Monitoring machine performance and production output to ensure quality and efficiency targets are met.
- Perform routine inspections and make basic machine adjustments as required.
- Load and unload materials, components, and finished products.
- Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections and accurately record production data.
- Follow standardized work instructions, operating procedures, and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles and company standards.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process concerns, or quality issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Work cooperatively with team members, production leaders, engineers, and support departments.
- Support cross-training efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow established procedures.
- Basic math, reading, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and production documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Requires current authorization to work in the United States. Sandvik cannot provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this role, now or in the future. This role is based on site in Westminster, SC. Remote or international work arrangements are not available. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Preferred
- Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
- Familiarity with quality inspection processes.
