About Pelican Bay Foundation
Pelican Bay Foundation is the premier luxury community in Naples, FL. One of the area’s largest exclusive enclaves, situated on more than three square miles and bordered by pristine white-sand beaches, our community offers the most diverse slate of amenities and activities anywhere in the region.
The Foundation manages all common areas, including two beach facilities and two private beachfront restaurants, two racquets’ facilities, two boardwalks, the Fitness Center and Wellness Studio, the Community Center, and approximately 90 acres of land.
About the Position
The Racquets Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coordination and continued development of Pelican Bay Foundation’s tennis, pickleball and Community Park racquet programs.
This position provides specialized racquet-sports expertise, operational oversight and professional support to the tennis and pickleball teams. The Racquets Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality programming, instruction, events and member experiences while ensuring consistency across all racquet operations.
The position reports to the Director of Sports. The Director retains overall strategic, financial and departmental accountability for the Sports portfolio.
Racquet Program Leadership
- Oversee the daily operation and delivery of Pelican Bay’s tennis and pickleball programs.
- Provide technical leadership and racquet-sports expertise across tennis, pickleball and Community Park racquet activities.
- Establish consistent operating standards, instructional expectations and service practices across the racquet program.
- Develop and implement programming that serves players of varying ages, abilities and levels of play.
- Evaluate program participation, member demand and emerging trends to recommend new or revised offerings.
- Support the continued growth and reputation of Pelican Bay’s racquet program within the local and broader club and community association industries.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide direct leadership, coaching and support to designated tennis and pickleball professionals and operational staff.
- Support the professional development of racquet instructors, team members and emerging leaders.
- Coordinate staff schedules, court coverage, lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments and special events.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to employees.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training and evaluating racquet staff in coordination with Human Resources and the Director of Sports.
- Promote a collaborative, positive, respectful and member-focused work environment.
Member Experience
- Build strong relationships with members and maintain a visible presence throughout the racquet facilities.
- Respond to member questions, concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with the Racquet Advisory Group and other approved member groups as directed by Foundation leadership.
- Ensure programs, events and communications are organized, consistent and aligned with member needs.
- Monitor member satisfaction and recommend improvements to programming, operations and service delivery.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for recreational, social and competitive players.
Tennis and Pickleball Operations
- Oversee tennis and pickleball lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, round robins, camps and social programming.
- Coordinate court utilization and scheduling to balance instructional, recreational, competitive and member-use needs.
- Ensure court reservation practices and racquet rules are consistently administered.
- Monitor court conditions, equipment and facility needs and communicate maintenance concerns to the appropriate department.
- Coordinate with Facilities, Communications, Lifestyle, Food and Beverage and other departments as necessary to support racquet operations and events.
- Maintain appropriate operational procedures, records and program documentation.
Community Park Racquet Operations
- Oversee racquet-related programming and operations conducted at Pelican Bay Community Park.
- Coordinate tennis and pickleball activities at the park in alignment with applicable agreements, rules and operational requirements.
- Serve as an operational liaison for racquet-related matters involving Community Park partners and outside organizations, as assigned.
- Support the planning and execution of clinics, tournaments, exhibitions and special events conducted at Community Park.
- Ensure park-based racquet activities are coordinated with the Director of Sports, Wellness & Lifestyle and other Foundation departments.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Sports with development of the annual racquets operating and capital budgets.
- Manage racquet operations within approved budgets and spending authority.
- Monitor program revenue, instructional revenue, payroll, expenses and participation trends.
- Review financial and operational results and recommend adjustments when necessary.
- Assist with pricing recommendations for lessons, clinics, events, leagues and other racquet offerings.
- Ensure accurate payroll, scheduling, program registration and administrative records.
- Prepare periodic reports regarding participation, staffing, financial performance, programming and member feedback.
Safety, Compliance and Standards
- Ensure racquet programs operate in accordance with Foundation policies, safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Promote safe play, appropriate court conduct and proper use of facilities and equipment.
- Ensure incidents, injuries and member concerns are properly documented and escalated.
- Maintain required professional certifications and encourage staff compliance with applicable certification standards.
- Support emergency preparedness and operational readiness at all racquet facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Racquets Manager provides direct or functional supervision to designated tennis professionals, pickleball professionals, instructors, attendants and other racquet-related employees, as assigned.
The position is responsible for coaching, scheduling, performance management, training and operational coordination within the racquets function.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation, hospitality, business administration or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in tennis, pickleball, racquet sports, club operations or recreation management.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a private club, community association, resort, municipal recreation program or comparable environment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of both tennis and pickleball programming and operations.
- Experience developing clinics, leagues, tournaments, instructional programs and member events.
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs, schedules, facilities and competing priorities.
- Strong member-service orientation and ability to work effectively with committees and advisory groups.
- Proficiency with scheduling, registration, point-of-sale and standard business software.
- Ability to prepare budgets, reports, schedules and operational plans.
- Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within a designated period after hire.
- Relevant tennis or pickleball professional certification preferred.

Work Schedule
The position requires a flexible schedule based on operational needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments and special events.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend and move throughout indoor and outdoor racquet facilities. The position may require demonstrating racquet techniques, handling equipment and working in warm or variable weather conditions.

The Racquets Manager operates under the direction of the Director of Sports and does not have responsibility for the Community Center, Lifestyle, Fitness, Wellness or the overall Sports, Wellness & Lifestyle department.
