Position Details

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and proposing advertising solutions on Rakuten Books tailored to client needs. You will work with clients at the forefront of the entertainment industry—including publishers, film studios, game developers, and music labels—to deeply understand their challenges and develop unique advertising campaigns. From large-scale tie-ups on Rakuten Books and special flyers or sampling inserts in our shipping packages, to innovative OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) promotions, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
You will be expected to accelerate the growth of our advertising revenue. By building direct, trusted relationships with clients and delivering results, you will hold significant autonomy and responsibility. Utilizing Rakuten Group’s data-driven insights and cross-service advertising solutions, you will be able to propose products that differentiate us from competitors, while gaining comprehensive knowledge of web advertising and the end-to-end order fulfillment process.
Note: Since most clients are Japanese companies, English is rarely required for daily operations; you do not need to be confident in English to apply.

Work Environment

・33 members total (Leadership: 7, Staff: 26).
・Age Distribution: A balanced mix of 20s, 30s, and 40s (1:1:1 ratio).
・Hiring Background: A 1:1 ratio between new graduates and mid-career hires.

Experience in ad sales or e-commerce operations.


Many mid-career hires start as members and advance into management roles.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Basic problem-solving skills (logical thinking, high-level communication skills, etc.).
・Experience in sales or planning.
・Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

Desired Qualifications:

・Experience in the e-commerce industry.
・Experience in advertising sales.
・Experience in B2B sales.
