Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing support and assistance to clinical staff in the management of medication ordering and delivery.

Full-time Monday-Friday, with rotating evenings, nights, & weekends.

• Communicates among several individuals, including patients, co-workers, insurance companies and prescribers.
• Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems.
• Works on a team to fulfill prescription orders from start to finish with an in-depth understanding of each workstation.
• Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g. HIPAA), regulations, professional stands, and ethical principles.   
• As allowable by state law, certified and trained pharmacy technicians can expand on their clinical and managerial responsibilities.
• Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with patients, outside providers, referral sources, or others.
• Reconstitutes and compounds suspensions
• Balances quality and efficiency in all tasks, contributing to both patient outcomes and broader team goals
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully through verbal and written skills. Documents in accordance with protocol.
• Promotes a sense of “teamwork” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation. Solves problems independently or knows when to seek consultation. Provides leadership to other support staff on the practice team. Works cooperatively and respectfully with others at all levels of the organization.
• Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with patients, outside providers, referral sources or others.
• Responsible for continued professional growth and development.  

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Uphold's procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED required. Current valid and unrestricted certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board of the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician. Current valid and unrestricted pharmacy technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy. Bilingual Spanish Required.

EXPERIENCE: Must have obtained Certification

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent

communication skills in English as well as basic reading and math skills. Computer proficiency

with an electronic medical record. Commitment to exceptional customer service.
