We are looking for highly motivated, process-driven, and detail-oriented professionals to support our senior engineers in design, analysis, and project management tasks. Our current projects center on water and wastewater conveyance in the Mid-Atlantic region, with our current client base including DC Water, WSSC, Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington and AlexRenew.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design and analysis tasks for water and wastewater conveyance assignments, including hydraulic capacity evaluation, alternatives analysis, rehabilitation versus replacement strategy, pipeline and force main design, pump and lift station design, diversion and flow control structures, and trenchless and tunnel engineering support. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting construction-phase services, including submittal and RFI review, field observation, and record drawing preparation.
  • Conduct field work including site reconnaissance, manhole and structure inspection support, flow monitoring coordination, and construction observation.
  • Coordinate directly with engineering partners, client staff, and InterAgency colleagues on assigned tasks.
  • Contribute technical content to SOQs, proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
  • Check and review the work of junior engineers and technical staff as the practice grows.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience with a primary focus on water and wastewater conveyance (gravity sewers and interceptors, force mains, water transmission and distribution mains, pumping and lift stations, diversion and flow control structures, and/or tunnels and trenchless construction).
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license, or EIT certification with PE examinations scheduled or completed. Licensure in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia preferred; candidates eligible for licensure by reciprocity will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting water or wastewater capital programs in a technical capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry design and analysis tasks to completion with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic principles as applied to pressurized and gravity systems, and experience with hydraulic modeling or design software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS.
  • Clear technical writing, with experience preparing technical memoranda, calculation packages, or design reports.
  • Willingness to perform field work at active water and wastewater facilities and construction sites.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the DC metro region.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting water resources and environmental infrastructure projects in the DC–Maryland–Virginia region.
