## Join our Team

About this opportunity

The Developer Advocate is a developer-facing engineering role within Ecosystem Engineering.

You will enable internal and external rApp developers to successfully discover, understand, build, integrate, test and progress rApp solutions on the Ericsson Intelligent Controller (EIC) ecosystem. At the same time, you will continuously improve the end-to-end developer experience by turning developer evidence and recurring friction into practical engineering, tooling, documentation and product improvements.

This role combines hands-on software and systems engineering, technical troubleshooting, developer enablement and technical communication. You will connect developers with EIC capabilities and with the engineering, product and service organizations that design, build and operate the platform.

What you will do

  • Engage directly with internal and external developers through the Developer Community, DevLab (Test Resources offering) and other ecosystem channels, understanding the intent and context behind their questions, issues and use cases.
  • Provide accurate, concise and actionable technical guidance that helps developers progress.
  • Reproduce, isolate and classify technical issues; collect high-quality evidence such as logs, environment details, timestamps and reproduction steps; resolve issues within DA (Developer Advocate) scope or engage the appropriate specialist engineering, product or service teams.
  • Maintain clear developer communication and loop closure through resolution, workaround, clarification or explicit handover.
  • Create and improve developer documentation, examples, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, onboarding material, demos and other reusable technical content.
  • Identify recurring developer friction and failure patterns, contribute to root-cause analysis, and turn the findings into improvements in APIs/SDKs, tooling, automation, self-service, documentation, workflows and ecosystem services.
  • Contribute hands-on engineering work, scripts, examples, tooling and automation where this directly improves the developer experience.
  • Translate developer observations, adoption barriers and recurring problems into structured requirements, product/capability feedback and engineering inputs supported by evidence.
  • Enable developers through workshops, demonstrations, technical coaching and best-practice sharing, while building reusable knowledge across the developer community and DA team.
  • Use developer feedback and ecosystem data to identify common failure modes, adoption barriers and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Use and help improve AI-assisted developer-support capabilities responsibly, critically validating outputs and escalating unreliable or inappropriate behavior.
  • Build broad competence across EIC and the rApp ecosystem while developing deeper expertise in selected domains and sharing that knowledge with others.

## You will bring

  • Strong software and systems engineering fundamentals, with hands-on development experience in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript or comparable programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms, APIs, integration and modern developer workflows; familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD and related tooling is valuable.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to reason across systems, analyze logs and other evidence, identify patterns and contribute to root-cause analysis.
  • A developer-first mindset and experience in a developer-facing technical role—or clear evidence that you can understand developer needs, explain technical concepts effectively and help others succeed with complex technology.
  • Ability to assess APIs, SDKs, tooling and developer workflows from a usability and developer-experience perspective, identify friction and collaborate with engineering teams on improvements.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to create clear documentation, examples and guidance and to deliver effective demos, workshops or technical presentations.
  • Ability to turn developer feedback and observed problems into structured requirements, actionable engineering/product inputs and improvement opportunities, rather than treating interactions as isolated support cases.
  • Working knowledge of software/platform security principles, including secure API usage, access, credentials/certificates and protection of information.
  • Practical understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI, including responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools and critical validation of generated outputs.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work across engineering, product, service and stakeholder boundaries without relying on formal authority.
  • A continuous-learning and continuous-improvement mindset, with willingness to coach, mentor and share knowledge with developers and colleagues.

It would be a strong advantage if you also have

Experience with EIC, rApps, telecom network management, SMO/Open RAN or network automation; experience with Ericsson development processes and tooling; deeper expertise in AI/ML, cloud-native engineering or security; or previous experience in Developer Advocacy, Developer Relations, solution engineering, platform engineering or advanced technical support.
