About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

The Re:Build AppliedLogix Team provides design expertise for all facets of modern digital product development - with custom analog and digital embedded electronics; VHDL and Verilog targeting FPGAs, SoCs, MPSoCs and RFSoCs; embedded software on bare-metal, RTOS or Linux; full-stack application development (Linux and Windows). Our mechanical design capabilities include the packaging of embedded systems, tooling design, and manufacturing process development. We empower our staff to take on as much responsibility as they choose while offering a helping hand and experience-based coaching and the support of a highly competent team. Our goal is to enable each employee to achieve their fullest potential for both personal and professional growth.

Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for a seasoned FPGA engineer who thrives on solving hard technical problems and wants a direct hand in shaping solutions for a wide range of client applications. You're comfortable owning a design from initial concept through lab debug, and you bring the kind of practical, battle-tested judgment that only comes from a decade or more of hands-on FPGA development experience.

You're self-motivated, curious, and genuinely energized by variety—you'd rather work across multiple projects and unfamiliar applications than settle into a single narrow lane. You communicate well, whether you're documenting requirements with a client, walking a teammate through a design decision, or writing up a technical work package. You bring a research-and-development approach to new challenges and a collaborative instinct that makes you a natural fit within a technically diverse, lean, team-oriented engineering culture.

If you're looking for a role where your FPGA expertise will be applied to diverse, technically challenging client work—and where you'll have real influence over architecture, design, and delivery—this opportunity is worth a serious look.

What You Get To Do

  • Partner directly with clients to gather and document technical requirements, develop project estimates, and provide technical leadership throughout engagements.
  • Architect FPGA solutions and implement robust RTL designs for demanding, real-world applications.
  • Build simulation environments and self-checking testbenches to verify designs meet their requirements.
  • Drive designs through synthesis, constraint development, clock-domain crossing analysis, timing closure, and resource optimization.
  • Design with high-speed and embedded interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, DDR, AXI, SPI, and I2C.
  • Bring designs to life on target hardware—integrating and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to design reviews and technical risk assessments, helping guide data-driven design decisions.
  • Document and hand off FPGA work packages and project deliverables to clients.

What You Bring To The Team

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience developing FPGA-based systems.
  • Strong VHDL design experience.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and Intel Quartus FPGA development toolchains.
  • Solid understanding of RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, constraint development, clock-domain crossing techniques, and FPGA resource optimization.
  • Experience building verification environments and self-checking testbenches.
  • Experience designing with common digital interfaces and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA hardware integration, board bring-up, and lab debugging (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related equipment).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort collaborating directly with clients as well as internal teams.
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial perspective with a passion for customer success and the ability to contribute to multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to apply technical experience and an R&D outlook to unfamiliar applications.

Preferred:

  • Additional experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with testbench frameworks such as OSVVM or UVM.
  • Experience with digital signal processing, RF systems, and/or image processing.
  • Scripting or software development experience using Python, Tcl, C, and/or C++.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $181,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
