# Position Summary
The Director of Central NPM & Inventory Control is responsible for leading Micron's global Assembly & Test New Product Management (NPM) execution and inventory governance across the network. This leader drives end-to-end NPI execution excellence, inventory health, build commitment reliability, cycle time optimization, and planning transformation initiatives.
The role serves as the critical bridge between Product Development Teams (PDT), Supply Chain Planning (SCP), Site NPM organizations, Manufacturing, and Business Units to ensure successful NPI execution, predictable customer commitments, efficient inventory utilization, and scalable planning processes.
The Director will lead a globally distributed team responsible for:
- Central New Product Management (NPM) governance
- Build Plan Commit management
- Demand line fulfillment
- Model Cycle Time(CT) governance
- WIP and execution management
- Inventory X control
- NPI to HVM transition readiness
- Planning process transformation and automation
- AI/System-enabled planning maturity

Key Responsibilities
## 1\. Lead Global Central NPM Organization
- Be responsible for the Central NPM operating model.
- Drive consistency across MSB, MTB, MMY, MXA, MMP and future sites.
- Establish governance, benchmark reviews, processes for handling blocking issues and operating cadence.
- Develop planning talent and leadership bench strength.
- Create a high-performance culture focused on execution excellence.

2\. Drive End-to-End New Product Introduction (NPI) Execution
- ### Ensure NPI build plans are executable and aligned with customer commitments.
- Lead network-wide NPI execution reviews.
- Manage critical issues impacting sample delivery and qualification timelines.
- Partner with Product Development and Business Units to mitigate execution risks.
- Improve NPI OTD, MAD stability, and commit accuracy.
Relevant scope includes:
- MAD backlog review
- Build Plan Commit
- Sample Execution Meeting (SEM)
- Demand Line Closure
- NPI-to-HVM transition
## 3\. Own Inventory Health & Inventory Control Strategy
- Build and implement global inventory governance.
- Drive reduction of Inventory X, aged inventory, excess inventory, and unmanaged WIP.
- Improve inventory visibility across assembly, test, module, component banks, and logistics flows.
- Partner with Finance and Manufacturing to improve inventory turns and working capital performance.
Important measurements include:
- Inventory
- Aging WIP
- Unconsumed inventory
- Excess inventory
- Inventory disposition effectiveness
## 4\. Improve Cycle Time and Throughput
- Own Model CT governance.
- Drive CT reduction initiatives across the network.
- Improve loading predictability and demand fulfillment.
- Optimize WIP movement and execution visibility.
Main performance indicators:
- Cycle Time X-factor (CTx) performance
- NPI cycle time
- Hot-lot cycle time
- Schedule attainment
- Loading linearity
## 5\. Lead Planning Transformation
- Partner with SCP, Digital Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Drive automation of manual planning activities.
- Enable system-based planning capabilities.
- Advance AI-assisted planning, risk detection, and inventory analytics.

- Supply Planning Optimization (SPO) integration
- Materials Available Date (MAD) automation

## 6\. Executive Collaborator Management
- Serve as primary planning interface for:

- PDT
- Manufacturing

- Provide executive-level recommendations during supply disruptions, capacity constraints, and NPI escalation situations.

Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Supply Chain
- Operations Management
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Business
Preferred:
- MBA / EMBA
- Master's degree in Supply Chain or Operations
- 15+ years in: Semiconductor operations, Supply chain planning, Manufacturing planning & New Product Introduction(NPI) management
- 5+ years leading global teams.
- Experience in Assembly & Test operations.
- Experience with NPI/sample operations.
- Experience leading large-scale planning transformation projects.
- Experience with inventory optimization and working-capital management.
