Stock Management Controller

 

Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking a Stock Management Controller to manage stock within the production environment, coordinating, accounting for and forecasting all stock requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maximising and controlling stock usage and the reordering process in line with operational requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Receive raw materials, bulk products and other stock while adhering to the correct processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the offloading of containers and other products/materials received, ensuring compliance with relevant BRC procedures.
  • Ensure sufficient warehouse space is available for incoming stock and that all relevant regulations are adhered to.
  • Coordinate and manage stock movements between receiving and off-site warehouses.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and provide regular reporting on raw materials and bulk stock.
  • Assist with purchasing raw materials in compliance with relevant BRC requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate bulk product stock levels and reporting.
  • Coordinate the ordering of imported bulk products.
  • Reconcile physical stock in receiving and production warehouses against the accounting system and process any required corrections.
  • Control and coordinate bulk products required for manufacturing.
  • Manage stock levels for all packaging materials, including:
    • Outer cartons
    • Labels
    • Bean bags
    • Hot chocolate bags
    • Valves
    • Tin ties
    • Filter reels
    • Empty capsules
    • Capsule sleeves
    • Capsule top film
  • Place orders and manage call-offs for locally sourced packaging.
  • Place orders for imported packaging as required.
  • Manage warehouse space for packaging stock in conjunction with production staff.
  • Process and monitor stock movements between warehouses and maintain accurate internal transfer records.
  • Review and manage stock movements between all warehouses.
  • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and stock codes used in manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular weekly and monthly stock takes across all warehouses:
    • Receiving Warehouse – weekly
    • Roasting Warehouse – weekly
    • Blend Warehouse – weekly
    • Packaging Warehouse – monthly
  • Report on stock on hand and identify slow-moving or excess stock.
  • Review and reconcile physical stock on hand against the accounting system.
  • Assist with the creation of new products and product codes on the relevant accounting and inventory systems.
  • Manage the annual year-end stock take for audit purposes.
  • Assist with annual BRC audits and ensure all stock-related processes and procedures comply with BRC requirements.
  • Assist with product costing and review product costs on the accounting system.
  • Provide support to colleagues and assist with general operational duties when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant work area in accordance with BRC requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in stock/inventory management within a warehouse, factory or production environment.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience with stock reconciliations and inventory management.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of BRC requirements would be advantageous.
