CGL/BI Senior Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced CGL/BI Senior Claims Specialist to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling commercial general liability (CGL) and bodily injury (BI) claims, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a carrier environment. This role involves managing intermediate-level claims, including litigation and coverage analysis, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Responsibilities

• Efficiently handle commercial first-party property and third-party general liability claims from inception to resolution.
• Review and set up new loss assignments promptly, adhering to departmental guidelines.
• Establish and regularly evaluate loss and expense reserves for adequacy and accuracy.
• Analyze and interpret policy language to make appropriate coverage decisions.
• Draft complex coverage correspondence, including reservation of rights and disclaimers, in compliance with state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, agents, and regulatory agencies.
• Investigate coverage, liability, and damage issues, and execute appropriate action plans for claim resolution.
• Document all claim file activities, including strategies and plans of action.
• Direct and manage activities and costs of external vendors, such as adjusters and legal counsel.
• Present and discuss loss facts and issues in roundtable discussions with peers and management.
• Prepare and submit detailed reporting documents, including Large Loss Reports.
• Maintain required state adjuster licenses and comply with continuing education requirements.
• Serve as a technical resource by mentoring and sharing knowledge with team members.
• Participate in internal and external training sessions and provide feedback to the team.
• Collaborate with management and other departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a carrier environment with a strong focus on CGL/BI claims.
• Proven litigation and coverage experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in managing claim files and adhering to industry best practices.
• Ability to mentor and train team members effectively.
• Must hold and maintain required state adjuster licenses.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment (except for Arizona-based candidates who may need to work onsite).
