Position Summary
The Owner’s Architectural Project Manager serves as the owner's lead representative for architectural planning, design execution, and consultant management across a portfolio of capital projects. The role is responsible for directing external architectural and engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives, corporate design standards, operational requirements, budgets, schedules, and quality expectations. This individual provides technical owner-side leadership from feasibility through planning, design, permitting, construction support, and project closeout while driving accountability for successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging from planning and programming through construction and closeout.
- Direct and oversee external architects, engineers, commissioning agents, and specialty consultants.
- Lead design reviews and ensure alignment with operational requirements and strategic goals.
- Hold consultants accountable for deliverables, milestones, quality standards, and contract commitments.
- Coordinate decisions among internal stakeholders, design professionals, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Review design documents for completeness, constructability, cost impacts, and operational functionality.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and consultant expenditures.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, schedule status, and financial health.
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture.
- Licensed Architect preferred.
- 10-15+ years of architectural project leadership experience.
- Experience managing external A/E firms rather than producing drawings directly.
- Expertise in consultant management and design quality control.
- Experience delivering complex commercial, hospitality, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, or corporate projects.
- Strong understanding of permitting, code compliance, and project delivery processes.
Pay
This is a salaried position starting at $94,000.00(or applicable minimum salary, if higher) and pays up to $129,000.00, based on experience and qualifications.Benefits
