Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Microsoft Fabric Developer with 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, and enterprise reporting solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT development, production support, and enhancement delivery.
Required skills:
- 6+ years of overall experience in data engineering, business intelligence or analytics.
- Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Semantic Models, and Power BI.
- Experience with medallion architecture, lakehouse patterns, data warehouse design, and enterprise reporting datasets.
- Hands-on experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion, data transformation, Standard frameworks,and orchestration processes.
- Good working knowledge of Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or Databricks will be preferred.
- Experience working in a production support environment with defined SLA commitments.
- Ability to participate in critical business cycles including financial and month-end reporting processes.
- Good understanding of data modelling concepts, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Experience with dimensional modelling, facts, dimensions, keys, relationships, and reporting-ready datasets.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing optimized queries, analyzing complex datasets, and supporting performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to document technical designs, data flows, mappings, dependencies, and delivery processes.
- Good communication skills to work with business users, technical teams, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Good understanding of SAP data, business processes, and enterprise reporting environments is nice to have.
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to HANA Modeling, SAP data structures, BusinessObjects, or Tableau is nice to have.
- Experience working in a captive center or global capability center environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
Development & Enhancements
- Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, and Semantic Models.
- Develop scalable and high-performance data ingestion and transformation solutions.
- Create and maintain reporting-ready datasets for business intelligence and analytics.
- Gather requirements and deliver enhancements aligned with business priorities.
- Prepare technical designs, source-to-target mappings, and development documentation.
- Implement data modeling best practices to support reporting and analytical needs. Production Support & Operations
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 support for Fabric-based reporting and analytics solutions.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, data failures, report issues, and pipeline failures within agreed SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Monitor critical production jobs, data loads, and reporting processes.
- Coordinate deployments, hotfixes, and emergency production changes when required.
- Support audit and compliance requirements through proper documentation and controls.
- Support critical month-end and financial close activities dependent on enterprise reporting solutions.
- Ensure timely completion of data refreshes, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
- Work closely with business and finance teams during close cycles to resolve issues and minimize business impact.
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual efforts and operational risk.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and monitoring capabilities.
- Recommend process improvements and best practices for support and development activities.
- Contribute to knowledge management, standard operating procedures, and support documentation.
Education
- IT Graduate (BE, BTech, MCA) preferred
