Position Summary:
The EPS Operator shall be trained in all phases of Expanded Polystyrene (EOS) foam protective packaging materials.
Essential Functions:
· Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must
take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
· Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment
efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance), and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives directed by the
Sedalia site.
· The EPS Operator shall be capable of the following:
· Reading and understanding all the press systems which includes the sequence of machinery, injection, valve
operation, etc.
· Adjusting the press to maintain a quality product and understand PLC output steps on all machines.
· Adjusting and operating the pre-expander to maintain the correct density of the product. This will be done by
constant monitoring of time and temperature of the raw materials.
· Keeping accurate density records of pre-expanded materials.
· Ability to input data in the PC data base as required.
· Monitor the scheduling of mold changeovers to meet the needs of the customer.
· Use of SAP to identify foam requirement from unit number.
· Develop daily schedule.
· Perform daily inventor.
· Complete forklift/clamp truck checklist.
· Ability to perform 6s audits.
· The Operator shall be capable of performing all the diversified operations assigned along with meeting satisfactory
performance requirements.
· Capable of performing said operations to close tolerances and shall inspect product for conformity to quality standards
as established for the department. Inspection is to include part and/or component defects and operation of all working
parts.
· Additional responsibilities include good housekeeping and other assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
· The Operator shall be able to work overtime as requested and posted by management.

Good manual dexterity
Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision
Good understanding of quality control principles
