The Opportunity
As a Field Service Technician C, you will provide technical support for Transformer Service within the US Services HUB. In this role, you will perform mechanical work in electrical substations, inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify causes of errors or defects, and service, repair, and adjust equipment components that operate primarily on mechanical systems. You will use computer systems and software to document site activities, process information, and support field operations. Working under the direction of site leadership, you will operate and maintain vacuum oil processors and oil handling equipment, complete processing logs, and support transformer testing activities. By helping identify and resolve equipment issues and supporting field service operations, you contribute to the reliability and continued operation of power infrastructure.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Perform mechanical work in electrical substations.
Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify errors, defects, or other issues.
Service, repair, and adjust equipment components operating on mechanical systems.
Resolve customer issues by evaluating information and selecting appropriate solutions.
Use computers and software to set up functions, enter data, and process site visit information.
Operate and maintain vacuum oil processors and oil handling equipment under site leadership direction.
Complete vacuum oil processing logs.
Support site transformer testing activities.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of professional work experience required.
Experience performing mechanical work in electrical substations and supporting field service activities.
Ability to use computers and software to enter data and process information related to site visits.
Valid driver's license required and ability to travel up to 85%.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand, stoop, bend, and walk for up to 12 hours per day.
Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
Possession of a Class A CDL is a plus.
Welding experience is a plus.
