Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm | Friday, 9:00am–1:00pm

About the Opportunity
Our client is an established Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm seeking a Trainee Paraplanner to join its growing Paraplanning Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their technical expertise within financial planning and wealth management. The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative support to Financial Advisers, an outsourced paraplanning provider and the Compliance Team.
A key benefit of this role is the early 1:00pm finish every Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the Financial Adviser team.
- Assist with Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations relating to investment disposals.
- Undertake chargeable event gain calculations for investment bonds.
- Draft accurate and compliant Suitability Reports and client recommendation letters.
- Gather, verify and analyse client information, including fact finds, policy details, valuations and cashflow reports.
- Liaise with product providers and investment platforms to obtain information, quotations and valuations.
- Monitor workflow and ensure tasks are completed within agreed service levels and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate client records across CRM and back-office systems.
- Support the Compliance Team in ensuring documentation and advice processes meet FCA requirements.
- Assist with improving operational processes and documentation standards.
- Act as a point of contact for advisers on technical queries.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within an IFA, financial planning or wealth management environment.
- Existing paraplanning experience would be highly advantageous.
- Candidates who are part-way through their Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning are preferred.
- Strong technical and analytical ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Good understanding of financial planning processes and FCA compliance requirements.
