We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diesel Technician I to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our fleet and heavy equipment through routine maintenance and repairs. What You'll Do:
- Perform tire changes and repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct oil and filter services on automobiles, concrete trucks, tractor trailers, front-end loaders, and various other equipment.
- Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, including lighting, switches, and related components on trucks and equipment.
- Assist Diesel Technicians II and III with more complex repairs and troubleshooting.
- Use pressure washers to clean and maintain the appearance and safety of equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow detailed repair order instructions to ensure accurate and timely service.
- Works closely with Lead Diesel Technician to maintain positive workflow throughout the Shop.
- Complete all necessary documentation and write-ups related to maintenance and repairs.

Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school preferred or minimum of 2 years’ experience performing maintenance or mechanical ability.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B preferred.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly.
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
- Ability to read schematics and familiarity with the process.
- Must have the willingness to learn.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height.
- Ability to carry minimum of 50 lbs. over a 5-foot span.
- Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
- Use their hands to manage, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend or twist body without restriction.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
