Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs.
Cardinal Health is seeking a highly experienced Principal, Technology Architect (Application Development & Maintenance) to support the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Diabetes business. This Technology Architect will partner closely with business stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams, vendors, and enterprise architecture to ensure that the new platform stays up to date by outlining roadmaps for future deployments and keeping the current state stable.
This individual will serve as a technical leader responsible for ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with Cardinal Health's enterprise architecture standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience designing and integrating enterprise platforms within the DME (durable medical equipment) industry.
Location - Fully remote (open to candidates nationwide)
Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee integrations across DME, Pharmacy, CRM, ERP, fulfillment, billing, payer, customer service, and analytics platforms.
- Design API-first integration strategies utilizing modern integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and microservices where appropriate.
- Develop end-to-end solution architectures supporting customer acquisition, patient onboarding, order fulfillment, billing, customer service, and ongoing patient engagement.
- Collaborate with enterprise integration teams to establish reusable services, APIs, and data exchange standards.
- Define system resiliency, performance, monitoring, and disaster recovery requirements across the platform landscape.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with Cardinal Health security standards and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Ideally looking for candidates who bring 12+ years of IT experience (with a background in Solutions Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related technical leadership roles in the DME industry).
- Proven experience architecting large-scale, enterprise platforms and complex system integrations.
- Experience working in DME industry (or healthcare, pharmacy, medical device), highly preferred.
- Experience designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures utilizing API-led connectivity and event-driven integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, master data management, security, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience working with Salesforce platforms, enterprise integration technologies, and customer-facing digital solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred.
