Description
- Designs and delivers tailored fitness programs for clients.
- Evaluates fitness levels and identifies coaching needs.
- Assists with general member guidance on the fitness floor.
- Ensures fitness area is clean and safe for use.
- Supports revenue targets through training sales and member engagement.
- Remains accessible via cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Relatable Work Experience: Three (3) years of personal training. One (1) year of experience in the fitness or exercise industry.
Training, Licenses, and Certifications: CPR, AED, and First Aid. Exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Fitness Instructor credential.
Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise science.
- Knowledge of nutrition and weight management principles.
- Strong customer service and motivational skills.
- Ability to create effective exercise programs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, balance, and demonstrate exercises.
- Ability to lift 50-100lbs.safely or with help.
- Exposure to weightlifting equipment.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor fitness events.
- Exposure to loud environments.
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals.
