Communication & Wellness Specialist
Location: Remote / Hybrid (2-3 days on-site)
Geographic Preference: Atlanta or Athens, GA area preferred
Travel: Approximately 10%; up to 25% for remote employees outside the Atlanta/Athens area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: $50K - $65K
Position Summary
The Communication & Wellness Specialist supports the development and delivery of engaging, accurate, and client-focused employee benefits communications and wellness initiatives. This position creates and maintains employee-facing communication materials, coordinates wellness resources and vendors, and partners with account teams on client projects and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is personable, outgoing, creative, and highly organized, with the ability to balance communication projects, wellness initiatives, vendor coordination, client interaction, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Benefits Communications
- Build employee-facing benefits communications using established templates, primarily in PowerPoint.
- Update materials based on plan design details, benefit changes, carrier information, and direction from account teams.
- Develop and maintain benefit guides, open enrollment materials, compliance communications, wellness resources, presentations, flyers, and other client-facing materials.
- Review content for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and alignment with client-specific benefit information.
- Prepare and organize communication materials for client meetings, employee education campaigns, open enrollment, and other benefits initiatives.
- Revise materials based on feedback from account teams, clients, and internal reviewers.
- Assist with quality control to ensure materials are polished, accurate, and ready for distribution.
Wellness & Employee Engagement
- Help identify, evaluate, and coordinate wellness vendors for health fairs, onsite events, educational programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support wellness programs designed to improve employee participation, well-being, and overall engagement.
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to support wellness events and related initiatives.
- Monitor wellness trends, emerging programs, and vendor offerings to help identify new resources and solutions for clients.
- Support community outreach and engagement activities as needed.
Client & Account Team Support
- Partner with account teams to support client communication, wellness, and employee engagement projects.
- Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal team members to gather information, clarify details, and move projects forward.
- Work within multiple platforms used for communications, compliance, content development, and project coordination.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Provide administrative and organizational support related to client programs and initiatives.
- Learn new systems and platforms quickly and work independently within them once trained.
Required Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, HR, benefits communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, formatting, and consistency.
- Comfortable creating and updating materials within established branded templates.
- Ability to learn new technology platforms quickly.
- Professional and service-oriented approach when working with clients, account teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
Preferred Experience
- Employee benefits communications, open enrollment materials, compliance notices, or wellness communications.
- Insurance brokerage, employee benefits, HR, or professional services experience.
- Experience coordinating wellness vendors, health fairs, employee events, or educational initiatives.
- Canva experience.
- Experience developing client-facing presentations and communication materials.
- Candidates located in or near Atlanta or Athens, Georgia.

Work Environment & Travel
This is a remote/hybrid opportunity. Candidates in the Atlanta or Athens, Georgia areas are preferred to support occasional in-person meetings, client activities, and collaboration; qualified candidates in other locations may also be considered.
Occasional business travel is required, generally up to approximately 10%. For employees located outside the Atlanta or Athens areas, travel may increase to approximately 25% depending on client meetings, company events, and other business needs.
The position requires regular computer and office-equipment use, effective in-person and electronic communication, and the ability to perform standard office functions. Occasional lifting of materials up to approximately 15 pounds may be required.
