We’re looking to hire a talented Planner based in Denton, Texas.
Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Planner is a customer-focused manufacturing production planning role responsible for managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The Planner helps ensure products are in stock or produced within appropriate lead times, keeps pace with demand and forecasts, supports other company needs, and helps ensure product is ready to ship at all times.
Primary Duties
• Analyze current work order requirements, inventory levels, production schedules, and material requirements. Make recommendations to the Production Planner and Materials Manager to maximize assembly capacity and efficiency.
• Review daily management reports, including shortage reports, the customer expedite database, fill rate, OTS, and past dues, and take appropriate actions.
• Work with all departments on the factory floor and their respective planners to prioritize and coordinate fulfillment of demand.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the fill rate and inventory levels set by the demand planner.
• Submit work orders to the Stockroom to pull and the Machine Shop to support and enable the Assembly team to manufacture.
• Work with Purchasing and Planning on shortage reports and supplier schedules.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and problems in conjunction with the Materials Manager.
• Act on order releases, action messages, and exception messages from the MRP system.
• Propose adjustments and revisions to planning parameters, including order quantities, lot sizes, safety stock, and min/max quantities.
• Meet production and sales deadlines.
• Perform other duties or functions as assigned by the Materials Manager.
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• JDE and SAP knowledge preferred.
• APICS certification preferred.
• 3+ years of inventory/production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of electronics and mechanical products.
• Experience creating and managing complex manufacturing process schedules.
• Great computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
• Primarily works in an office environment and remains seated for extended periods.
