The ETF & ETP business launched in 2023 and has grown to more than $16 billion in assets under management across 22 products, including five Calvert ETFs, three Parametric ETFs, 11 Eaton Vance fixed income ETFs and three digital asset ETPs.
The strategic and commercially focused Head of Global ETF Marketing and Direct Partnerships will lead all marketing and partnership initiatives across the rapidly evolving retail brokerage, direct investing, and fintech ecosystem. This leader will be responsible for defining and executing the global marketing and client coverage strategy for Morgan Stanley ETFs across key retail distribution partners. The successful candidate will serve as the senior relationship manager for leading brokerage and fintech platforms, driving strategic partnerships, platform engagement, and commercial growth opportunities that increase brand visibility, product adoption, distribution reach, and asset growth.
Working closely with Distribution, Product Development, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Global Marketing teams, this individual will help shape Morgan Stanley global ETF strategy within the digital wealth ecosystem and identify innovative ways to engage the next generation of investors globally. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Morgan Stanley’s ETF business by building strategic partnerships, driving innovative marketing programs, and expanding the Firm’s presence across the next generation of retail investing platforms.
Responsibilities
ETF Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global ETF marketing strategy focused on the direct and retail investor audience.
- Drive awareness, consideration, and adoption of Morgan Stanley ETFs through platform marketing programs, educational initiatives, and investor engagement campaigns.
- Partner with product, distribution, and investment teams to develop differentiated ETF positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Identify emerging trends in retail investing and digital wealth management to inform marketing priorities and future growth opportunities.
ETF Channel Growth
- Build strategic ETF relationships with key retail brokerage firms in partnership with Home Office relationship managers, self-directed investing platforms, robo-advisors, fintech companies, and digital wealth providers.
- Develop partner-specific growth plans that align Morgan Stanley's ETF objectives with platform priorities.
- Originate, negotiate, and advance strategic partnership opportunities that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior partner stakeholders and executive-level engagements.
- Collaborate with Global Marketing and Distribution teams to strengthen platform presence and enhance product accessibility across partner ecosystems.
ETF Partnership Strategy
- Identify and execute high-impact commercial opportunities including distribution expansion, educational partnerships, digital integrations, content programs, and promotional campaigns.
- Drive initiatives that increase assets under management, ETF adoption, platform shelf placement, and client engagement.
- Evaluate new business models, strategic alliances, and emerging fintech capabilities that can create competitive advantage.
- Monitor partner performance and develop business cases for investment and growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Global Marketing, Distribution, Product Strategy, Capital Markets, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to execute strategic initiatives.
- Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate partnership effectiveness and marketing ROI.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for initiatives spanning multiple stakeholder groups.
- Represent the ETF business in senior management forums and contribute to long-term business planning.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ETF distribution, asset management, wealth management, fintech partnerships, channel marketing, business development, or related financial services roles.
- Deep understanding of the ETF marketplace, retail investor behavior, and digital wealth ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience managing strategic relationships with brokerage firms, fintech platforms, digital wealth providers, or distribution partners.
- Strong commercial orientation with a proven ability to originate and execute growth opportunities.
- Exceptional relationship management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive initiatives across complex organizations.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and project management capabilities.
- Experience launching or scaling ETF products across retail distribution platforms, strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in direct investing, fintech innovation, and wealth technology.
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships and lead transformational initiatives.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
