Description

Passionate about technology, we develop quantitative and systematic trading strategies across a wide range of asset classes and global financial markets. Technology, research, and data are the cornerstones of our business. Our strength? A collaborative culture that encourages us to challenge one another, learn together, and deliver strong performance year after year.

OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our five-person Core Platform team.

Core Platform designs and develops the technical foundations used by software and data engineers across ABC arbitrage and enables them to focus on their business challenges while relying on robust, performant and scalable platforms.
Its scope includes compute infrastructure, data systems, messaging, internal frameworks and APIs, as well as developer tooling designed to accelerate the development and operation of applications.

C#/.NET is the primary technology used to build our platform, while Python is a first-class interface to it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Core Platform engineer, you will:

  • Design and build core services, frameworks and libraries, primarily in C#/.NET, used across ABC arbitrage
  • Design and maintain Python libraries, SDKs and integration layers used by our Data & Research ecosystem
  • Work on a broad range of technical domains, including distributed computing, data infrastructure, messaging and internal APIs
  • Build tools and abstractions that hide infrastructure complexity and improve developer productivity and experience
  • Design APIs and interfaces that provide a consistent and idiomatic experience across C# and Python
  • Solve challenging problems around performance, security, reliability, scalability and distributed systems
  • Work closely with the engineers using the platform to understand their needs and turn them into reusable capabilities
  • Take ownership of technical topics from architecture and design through implementation and production
  • Investigate complex production issues and design sustainable solutions
  • Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews and knowledge sharing across the team

Our technology landscape include:
C#, Python, SQL, Cassandra, Redis, Mimir, Loki, Grafana, Airflow, Parquet/Iceberg, AWS (S3, Batch, EKS, Athena…), Kubernetes, Argo CD, Flux CD, GitLab, GitHub, Codex

We operate across both on-premise and cloud infrastructures and design our systems with performance, reliability and scalability in mind.

We also have a long history of building and contributing to open-source software.

ABOUT YOU
You have 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience and enjoy tackling technically challenging problems.

We care more about strong software engineering fundamentals and your ability to learn than about expertise in a specific language or framework.

We would particularly like to meet you if:

  • You have strong experience building backend or systems software in a modern language such as C#, C++, Rust, Go or Java
  • You understand the challenges of distributed systems, concurrency and software performance
  • You care about API design, clean abstractions and developer experience
  • You value code quality, automated testing, maintainability and backward compatibility
  • You can take ownership of a technical problem from its initial design to its operation in production
  • You value code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge sharing

You don't need to be a C#/.NET expert when you join us, but you should be motivated to learn C# and .NET. Familiarity with Python is valuable given its central role in our Data & Research ecosystem.

Experience with platform engineering, developer tooling, distributed computing, data infrastructure or performance-sensitive software would be a strong plus.

Previous experience in finance is not required.

This offer describes the ideal profile. If you don't have all the skills listed but think you're up to the challenge, don't hesitate to apply!

HOW WE WORK
Autonomy, ownership and technical excellence are central to our engineering culture.
Our engineers work closely with traders, quants, researchers and other teams to design systems that address real user needs.
Code reviews, peer discussions and rigorous software engineering practices are an integral part of how we work.
Every four months, we select priority projects according to our business plan and allocate them across teams based on their areas of responsibility. Teams then have significant autonomy in deciding how to organize and deliver their objectives
