Job Description

Maintains the hospital's operating room, post-anesthesia care unit, and central processing equipment and systems in safe, reliable, and efficient working order.

Experience

  • 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

  • Driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of the repair and operation of equipment in areas including sterilizers, lighting systems, and blanket warmers
  • Ability to operate, calibrate, repair, and troubleshoot equipment and systems
  • Detailed knowledge of blueprints, schematic diagrams, and the use of measuring instruments, safety codes, and regulatory requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on operating room and post-anesthesia care unit equipment.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on central processing equipment.
  • Maintains operating room, post-anesthesia care unit, and central processing parts inventory.
  • Assists with transportation needs.
  • Ensures educational requirements are met.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
