Hiring: Lifting Specialist (Appointed Person)
Location: Offshore
Reports To: Team Leader, Logistics
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Lifting Specialist (Appointed Person) to join our Offshore Logistics team. In this role, you will hold overall control of offshore lifting operations, leading crane operators, riggers, and banksmen across critical operations on offshore platforms, rigs, barges, and vessels.
- Key Responsibilities
Hold overall control of all offshore lifting operations within designated areas.
Prepare and review detailed Lifting Plans for critical lifting activities (note: single-point authority will review/approve final plans).
Supervise and execute critical lifting procedures in compliance with oil & gas standards.
Lead a team of Crane Operators, Riggers, and Banksmen to ensure safe lifting practices.
Enforce HSE priorities and implement international lifting engineering standards across offshore locations.
Manage change and apply excellence in change management for lifting operations.
- Minimum Requirements
Age: 30 years or older.
Education: Minimum 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
(Candidates with less than 3 years diploma require qualifications equivalent to Asset Integrity Lifting Engineer).
Experience: Minimum 7 years of oil & gas lifting-related experience (offshore/onshore), including at least 5 years in a similar role.
Hands-on Expertise: Proven experience operating as an Appointed Person for lifting equipment and executing critical lifts.
- Certifications:
ADNOC Offshore Approved 4-day Appointed Person Course (evaluated every 3 years). Must be trained/assessed on the specific type of Offshore/Onshore Crane Operation Planning.
Knowledge of lifting equipment via examination (LEEA Entry Exam & Diplomas preferred).

Civil Engineer in construction projects
Barge Captain in Offshore Drilling Rig
