Account Manager – Exports
Location: Stellenbosch, South Africa

Reports to: Head of Commercial
BerryWorld SA is seeking a dynamic Account Manager to join our Sales team. This role is pivotal in
managing key export customer accounts, building new markets, and driving sustainable business
growth in the global fruit industry.
Key Responsibilities
o Develop seasonal sales strategies and detailed weekly demand plans.
o Align marketing requirements with internal stakeholders to ensure customer service
excellence.
o Act as the primary contact for export customers, ensuring clear communication and
high service levels.
o Build and grow long-term customer, grower, and supplier relationships.
o Identify and develop new business opportunities in export markets.
o Negotiate volumes and pricing to optimise sales and grower returns.
o Manage stock levels, claims, and trade agreements to minimise risk.
o Present market insights and performance data to customers and internal teams.
o Oversee customer orders, invoicing, claims, and debtors’ administration.
o Provide accurate reporting on account status, forecasts, and key metrics.
o Support finance in managing overdue debtors and queries.
Impact & Scope
• Responsible for +/- 20% of total export sales volume.
• Strategic and operational decision-making with direct financial impact.
• High complexity, requiring strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.

Qualifications & Experience
• Essential:
o Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent.
o 5–7 years’ experience in sales account management and trade.
o Strong knowledge of supply/demand, pricing, and costing mechanisms.
o Fruit industry or FMCG experience.
o Logistics and export market knowledge.
• Desirable:
o Related tertiary qualification in marketing or sales.
