•Telephone Reassurance Caller Volunteers make phone calls to participants on their list on assigned days
•Place assigned calls to participants, treating them with kindness, consideration, and respect at all times
•Ask open-ended questions
•Recognize possible health problems by listening carefully to participant complaint and report any concerns
•Comply with Confidentiality Agreement, maintaining the bond of trust we have with our participants
•Report calls, preferably by email or, if unable, in writing

•Must be 18 years or older
•Must enjoy and value conversations with older adults
•Must have the ability to engage in conversation to ascertain a person’s condition by asking tactful considerate questions
•Must have the ability to speak clearly, patiently, and at time, slowly
•Must have the ability to speak cheerfully and positively about daily life and shared interests while providing encouragement
•Must have excellent listening skills
•Must have a telephone available to make calls to participants
Work requires reaching, standing, walking, grasping, writing and/or typing, repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to received detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the volunteer is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
