JOB SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, following established treatment plans using evidence-based strategies. The PTA collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care, optimal outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high-quality physical therapy care to optimize clinical outcomes
- Prioritize patient care and manage assigned caseload efficiently
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
- Administer and advance treatment programs according to goals defined by the Physical Therapist and patient tolerance, consistent with physician orders
- Educate patients on exercises, treatment protocols, and injury prevention
- Document patient condition, treatments, and progress accurately and timely
- Provide ongoing updates to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and status
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed
- Administer various physical therapy modalities and interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license as a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of injury treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift equipment necessary for patient care
